Red Card for Rabbits and Foxes Community Fox Shoots
Red Card for Rabbits and Foxes is a community based feral animal management program that operates across the agricultural regions of Western Australia. SSAA (WA) is a proud sponsor of these events.
Local coordinators take on the role as volunteers, and they engage, assist and support land managers to bait and shoot foxes and rabbits on their own properties, with the assistance of a central coordinator.
The Red Card program brings together community members to help stop feral animals damaging the environment.
The shoots are coordinated by natural resources management group Wheatbelt NRM and the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (WA).
They’re supported through the WA Government’s State NRM program.
Proceeds go to Regional Men’s Health Initiative, they were given a much needed boost of nearly $13000 in 2016 through our sponsorship of this valuable program.
It is anticipated that in 2017 the figures will have around 1000 participants culling close to 10,000 pests.
